Wildcard (Seasonal) Roast
Our Wildcard roast is where we explore the unique flavours of coffee from across the world. Each season (or until stock runs out) will bring something new; new beans, roast style or blends made using only the highest quality beans we can get our hands on!
It's a little caffeinated adventure into the unknown. This is for those who want to try something a bit more unique and experiment with the brews.
"Get to Worka"
Our first microlot coffee for our wildcard roast is a special one. It comes from Ethiopia, more specifically the world famous coffee growing region of Yirgacheffe.
Ethiopia is considered to be the birthplace of coffee and is the home of the best "heirloom" coffees in the world.
While the term heirloom is a general one given to all Ethiopian coffees, Coffee grown in the Yirgacheffe region are considered individually unique and hold very high praise by experts in the coffee community.

We've roasted this one to a medium profile which means has bought out some of the best flavours within these coffee beans. We have found this coffee to have tasting notes of Dried Fig, Blackcurrant and Cacao. It has Low acidity and is very smooth and full-bodied.
This one cuts through milk well, so is perfect for a milky espresso (on our machine, we're aiming for 18 grams in the basket for a 30-second extraction). As a filter coffee, you'll notice the more fruity notes.

Red Stag™ is our signature medium roast. Like your trusty .308 - it's proven, reliable and versatile. This is a super smooth coffee and our most popular roast for good reason.
Sambar™ is our heavy-hitting dark roast. This is the .50cal of the coffee world. Full-bodied with a bold flavour, it's perfect for those who like a little more oomph in their coffee.
Full Send™ is a rich and super smooth brew with bold notes of chocolates and nuts balanced with some caramel sweetness. It's punchier than our Red Stag roast but without the bitterness of our Sambar roast.
Wapiti ™ is our wildcard roast where we explore unique flavours of coffees from across the world. Each month the coffee will change; new beans, roast style or blends. You'll never really know what you're getting but our promise is to always use the highest quality beans we can get our hands on and do our best to bring the best out of them. It's a little caffeinated adventure into the unknown.
